A seasoned subordinate of the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has been charged with fraud, constabulary said.
Sgt. Jon Williams, who had 18 years of work with the HRPS, was arrested and charged pursuing a "lengthy investigation" by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
According to a quality merchandise from the HRPS, the OPP started investigating successful February 2023 "following aggregate complaints of fraud successful narration to an concern scheme."
Williams and 2 others "with nary transportation to the constabulary service" were charged with 1 number of fraud implicit $5,000.
Police said successful the merchandise Williams was suspended with pay.
