Tight race in Miramichi-Grand Lake

One of the closest national predetermination races successful New Brunswick was the riding of Miramichi-Grand Lake. 

CBC had not projected a victor successful the contention between Conservative Mike Dawson and Liberal Lisa Harris arsenic of aboriginal Tuesday.

Dawson was up by 392 votes arsenic of 12:30 a.m. connected Tuesday with 170 of 179 polls counted. 

The riding flipped backmost and distant betwixt Harris and Dawson arsenic results trickled successful Monday evening. 

It was the lone riding successful the state CBC had not projected a winner.

The sprawling riding covers overmuch of cardinal and eastbound New Brunswick, including the metropolis of Miramichi.

Both Harris and Dawson had antecedently represented the Miramichi country successful the provincial legislature. 

Harris was archetypal elected to the New Brunswick legislature successful 2014, serving arsenic a curate nether premier Brian Gallant. She resigned her spot to tally for the national Liberals successful the 2021 election. She mislaid to Jake Stewart.
