RCMP person a fishy successful custody aft the decease of a young kid connected Shoal Lake Cree Nation past week.

Police were called to the community, astir 100 kilometres eastbound of Nipawin, Sask., astatine astir 7 p.m. connected May 23, 2025, responding to reports that a kid nether the property of 10 was earnestly injured.

When constabulary arrived, they recovered the kid unresponsive wrong the home.

According to RCMP, life-saving measures were attempted, but the kid was declared dormant astatine the scene.

Police determined the decease was suspicious and person transferred the probe to the RCMP's Major Crimes Division.
