Nova Scotia is lifting 2 long-standing moratoriums connected caller seafood purchaser and processor licences starting Aug. 1.
Fisheries Minister Kent Smith says the state is ending the moratorium connected groundfish that was imposed successful 1994, and the moratorium from 2018 connected licences for each different seafood.

Fish and seafood products were Nova Scotia's largest export commodity successful 2024, accounting for 36 per cent of exports.
