A 31-year-old Musquash antheral has been charged successful the decease of 26-year-old Sarah Teakles, who was reported missing by RCMP past week.

Calvin Burns-Smith was charged successful Saint John tribunal Tuesday with manslaughter and indignity to quality remains. He was besides scheduled to look connected a abstracted complaint of uttering threats. 

Burns-Smith was already successful custody aft being arrested by the Saint John Police Force connected unrelated matters, the New Brunswick RCMP said Tuesday. 

Teakles was recovered deceased successful Maces Bay connected Thursday, the Mounties antecedently said, aft being reported missing connected April 14.

Police said she had been past seen successful Musquash, astir 30 kilometres westbound of Saint John. She was reported missing the aforesaid day, and constabulary said her household was concerned astir her well-being.  

"On April 17, the Major Crime Unit took carriage of the investigation, and the woman's conveyance was located the aforesaid day successful Maces Bay," RCMP said connected Friday. 

"Later that day, the woman's assemblage was located with the assistance of Police Dog Services."

Police said criminality was suspected successful her death and an autopsy was scheduled to find the nonstop cause.

Teakles had 2 children, according to her mother, Cathy Dubee, speaking with CBC News done household person Tiffany Harvey. 

Harvey said Burns-Smith and Teakles had been dating connected and off. 

The 26-year-old had been surviving with her children, sister and parent successful Rothesay, Harvey said.
