The two-vehicle collision happened astatine astir 9:25 a.m. connected Highway 12, astir 5 kilometres northbound of Zhoda, a assemblage astir 80 kilometres southbound of Winnipeg, RCMP said successful a quality merchandise Sunday. 

Police judge the minivan was travelling northbound connected the road erstwhile the operator tried to walk a semi-trailer but crashed head-on with an SUV driving southbound. 

The minivan driver, a 76-year-old man, and his passenger, a 72-year-old woman, died astatine the country of the crash, constabulary said. A 37-year-old antheral travelling with them was taken to infirmary successful superior condition. 

Police said the operator of the SUV, a 41-year-old man, was taken to infirmary successful captious condition. 

RCMP, on with the forensic collision reconstructionist, proceed to analyse the crash.
