Voters successful 7 New Brunswick municipalities formed ballots Monday for byelections that included 2 mayoral races. 

Voter turnout was little than 30 per cent

Voters successful 7 New Brunswick municipalities formed ballots Monday in byelections that included 2 mayoral races. 

There were vacancies successful 9 municipalities, but nary 1 offered to run in Campobello or Tracy. 

According to Elections N.B., elector turnout was 28.92 per cent. 

Arcadia

Clinton Sharpe was elected politician with 426 votes retired of a full 1,065 ballots cast. Arcadia includes the erstwhile villages of Gagetown, Jemseg and Cambridge-Narrows. 

Belle-Baie

Brigitte Couturier had nary contention for Ward 5 councillor and was acclaimed. Just northbound of Bathurst, Belle-Baie includes the erstwhile villages of Beresford, Nigadoo and Petit Rocher. 

Fundy Albert

Jim Campbell was elected politician with 993 retired of 1,599 votes cast. Dave Garden was elected Ward 1 councillor with 167 of 280 votes. The byelection came after the municipality saw 3 abstracted provincial supervisors appointed and assembly suspended owed to rampant infighting and resignations successful 2023. The provincial supervision of Lakeland Ridges ended past May. Lakeland Ridges includes the erstwhile villages of Canterbury and Meductic. 

Memramcook

Etienne Gaudet was elected councillor with 807 votes retired of a full 1,345 ballots cast.

Miramichi

This contention saw the largest number of ballots formed successful the April 14th byelection. Peggy Doyle and Guy Richard were some elected arsenic councillors. Out of 3,906 ballots cast, Doyle received 2,296 votes and Richard received 1,634. 

Miramichi River Valley

Two races were held here. Ray Croft was elected councillor astatine ample with 378 of 1,387 votes cast. In Ward 1, Paula Dawn Hare was acclaimed. Miramichi River Valley includes the erstwhile villages of Blackville, Renous and Sunny Corner. 

Sunbury-York South

There were 2 seats up for grabs here. Cory Allen was acclaimed arsenic councillor successful Ward 1 and Hajnalka Hartwick was acclaimed arsenic councillor successful Ward 2. This municipality faced pushback from residents aft assembly projected spending $8 Million connected a caller municipality hallway pursuing amalgamation.
