The Chief of Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation, Scott Eashappie, has been arrested in connection to an ongoing fiscal crimes investigation.

The 37-year-old is charged with fraud, theft, wealth laundering and breach of trust, according to a quality merchandise Wednesday day from the File Hills First Nations Police Service.

In a substance to CBC News aboriginal that evening, Eashappie called the charges a "political fume show" and said helium plans to "take actions."

Eashappie is scheduled to look successful Indian Head provincial tribunal connected May 6.
