The Ontario Court of Justice withdrew an battle complaint against a Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) serviceman this week.
Const. Taylor Auger was charged with battle causing bodily harm aft a 33-year-old was injured aft being arrested in April 2023, according to the province's constabulary watchdog. The Crown withdrew the charges connected Tuesday, said a tribunal representative.
The Ontario Special Investigations Unit (SIU) had charged Auger in June 2024 in relation to the man's superior injury, said the SIU successful a quality merchandise astatine the time.
The antheral had been arrested for nationalist intoxication and taken to the constabulary station, the merchandise said.
"At the station, determination was an enactment betwixt (Auger) and the man. The antheral was taken to infirmary wherever helium was diagnosed with a superior injury," said the SIU release.
Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) said it placed Auger connected administrative duties aft helium was charged.
