Amherst man charged with impaired driving while riding e-bike

A 42-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving aft an e-bike was seen weaving successful and retired of postulation successful Amherst, N.S., forcing respective vehicles to propulsion to the broadside of the road.

The antheral was arrested June 23 around 7 p.m. after an off-duty serviceman with the Amherst constabulary spotted the e-bike swerving in front of vehicles.

In a quality merchandise Thursday, constabulary said the off-duty serviceman approached the cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet and appeared to beryllium intoxicated.  

Police were called and the cyclist was arrested.

The Amherst antheral was besides charged with operating a conveyance portion prohibited from driving. 

He was initially held successful custody owed to anterior convictions for impaired driving and charges for driving portion prohibited, constabulary said.

He appeared successful tribunal and was released connected conditions.
